Excess steam from the ship's boiler and condensate from the steam passing through the steam-using equipment enters the atmospheric condenser under pressure. At the same time, the cooling medium (e.g., seawater or fresh water) enters from the inlet of the condenser's tubular process and flows inside the heat exchanger tubes. The steam exchanges heat with the cooling medium in the shell process and the tube process, the heat is taken away by the cooling medium, the steam is gradually cooled and condensed into liquid water, and the condensate is collected in the hot water well. The condensate in the hot water well is filtered to remove oil and impurities, and then pressurized by the boiler feed pump and sent back to the boiler, realizing the closed loop of steam condensate, saving fresh water and realizing the function of heat exchange of the whole system.
Functions
Steam condensation: It is mainly used to convert the excess steam produced by ship boiler into liquid water under atmospheric pressure environment, to realize steam condensation recovery and improve energy utilization efficiency.
Water Cooling: Cooling of the hydrophobic water of all kinds of heat exchangers to reduce the temperature of the hydrophobic water for subsequent treatment and recycling.
Structural design
Shell and tube structure: usually adopts shell and tube structure, which consists of shell, heat exchanger tube, tube plate, baffle plate and other components. Steam flows in the shell course and cooling medium (such as seawater or fresh water) flows in the tube course, and heat exchange is carried out through the tube wall to realize condensation of steam and cooling of hydrophobic water.
Anti-cavitation structure: In order to prevent damage to the equipment caused by the cavitation phenomenon, a special anti-cavitation structure is designed, such as a buffer device at the steam inlet and optimized flow channel shape, to reduce the erosion of the equipment caused by the generation and rupture of air bubbles.
Multi-stage baffle device: A multi-stage baffle device is provided internally to change the flow path of the steam, increase the contact time and area between the steam and the cooling medium, and improve the condensation efficiency.
